The local area

  • Located on the boundary of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding National Beauty, there is plenty of walks and hiking trails to explore. The roads along the Fellside make great cycling with some fantastic views of the Lake District, just 3 miles up the road you will join the Coast to Coast cycle route at the bottom of Hartside pass. 

  • Hadrian's Wall its a short drive away. You can take a walk along a stretch of the wall or pay a visit to the Roman forts of Birdoswald and Housesteads.

The Lake District

  • We are 30 minutes from Pooley Bridge. Here you will find Ullswater Steamers, where you can jump aboard and steam your way up the length of Ullswater to Glenridding at the top of the Lake.

 

  • 40 Minutes drive you will take you to Lake District town of Keswick on the shores of Derwent Water, with loads of shops, boat hire and even a Pencil Museum to visit there is lots of activities for all of the family.
